The Government of Canada’s Update on Post-Graduation Work Permit Eligibility for International Students undergoing Online Classes:

Due to the effect of COVID-19 most of the Canadian Institutions have decided to offer classes online since the students are not able to travel overseas because of the travel restrictions.

IRCC has announced that if the in-class courses are moved to an online format because of COVID-19, the eligibility for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Program will not be affected. International students in this situation may begin their classes while outside Canada and complete up to 50% of their program outside Canada if they cannot travel to Canada sooner.

Students will now be able to start or continue their courses from their home countries and travel to Canada when it’s safe for them and yet be eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit subject to them doing at least 50% of their program in Canada.
